London, England

Up slowly this morning, still a bit tired although not that bad at all, considering.

Finally out to the train station at Imperial Wharf, on to West Brompton, transfer to the District Line, transferred at South Kensignton to the Circle line and then to Edgeware Road. What??? That's going in the wrong direction!!!!

True, the train we got on was westbound and the one we should have taken was Eastbound. But we would have had to go up to an overpass and on to another platform to get the eastbound train. And this jolly little gnome of a man that we chatted to said that it was called 'The Circle Line' after all, and it actually went in a circle, and there were fewer stops between South Kensington and Moorgate going west than east. But, we had to change platforms at Edgeware Road after all. At least it was just cross-platform and not up and over the tracks. Finally, Moorgate station, and arrival at Leanne's office much later than we had planned on. I visited briefly with Jan and Leanne, then they went to lunch and I went back into the tube at Liverpool Station, on the Central line this time, destination Oxford Circus Station and then on to a lunch with Tara at 'Mother Mash', a quick and easy lunch stop that Tara frequents.

Then back to Tara's office with her to type up these web pages while Leanne and Jan work together at Hydrodec.

Tonight a pub dinner, and a reasonably early night. It will be welcome.

Tara and I walked from her office on Savile Row down to Green Park near the Ritz on Picadilly Road and caught the #11 bus which heads toward Chelsea Harbour along Fulham Road. It was a nice walk, peaceful even in the Friday afternoon London crowds, and then a very pleasant bus ride past Sloane square to the Fulham Broadway tube station. We chattered happily as we rode along, and Tara pointed out her Obstetrician's office and the Chelsea Hospital where she will be to give birth early in the new year. Off the bus, we stopped at the Union Market at Fulham Broadway and bought snacks for pre-dinner, and then walked the road home up Imperial Avenue, about 20 minutes, to get the bus cramps out.

Tara and I snacked a bit, then Jonathan arrived home, we chatted a bit and then off to the Thai restaurant across the courtyard from their flat. We sat and had a cocktail, a beer, and a 'mocktail' for Tara, and then Leanne and Jan arrived after their filing session at Moorgate. Then a lovely dinner with taste delights too numerous to mention but featuring curry and peanut tastes, chicken, beef, and fish textures, and coconut rice. Yum. Then back to the flat, a cab ride for Leanne, and the end of the evening for the rest of us. We watched about half of the 'Blue Collar Comedy Tour' CD that we brought over from Chilliwack, then later that evening Jonathan and I watched the rest as Tara and Jan slept. Damn jet-lag.

Jonathan and Tara are off tomorrow afternoon, the evening, and most of Sunday at a family visit in Swindon. Jan and I look forward to some 'down time' to fight the lingering jet lag. No pictures today.
