Nurnberg, Germany
Super comfortable bed, great sleep, leisurely shower and start to the day. Excellent breakfast, included with the room, the German people know how to eat well.
By 10:15am we were out on the street heading up the hill to explore. We retraced our steps of last night, in the daytime the sights were different with better light for photos (though we are getting pretty good at the night photography) and fair sized crowds of people wandering, browsing, and buying. Germany is a wealthy place.
Made our way up to the Imperial Castle, bought souveniers and sun glasses and Christmas tree decorations at the Hauptmarket along the way.
Prowled and wandered the grounds and walls of the castle, then had lunch at a restaurant near the base of the walls. Bratwurst and pretzels and beer, it doesn't get better. Back up into the castle again, this time to the highest point, more pictures and reading the history of the place.
As a reward, ice cream on the way back to the hotel for a break, then out later in the evening to the Barfusser again for dinner.
Superb day, we love Nurnberg. Tomorrow after breakfast we are back to the hauptbanhof (main train station) to track number 6 to catch the 9:53 train to Schwandorf, then on to Furth-im-Wald to see Shane and Sonja who will pick us up just before noon.
