Paris, Fance
Post-race day, now the stiffness sets in for Leanne, who spent a restless night.
Leanne and Tara were up before us, and out the door to find coffee. They phoned from a small cafe a couple of blocks away, and we went to join them. We had mimosas (OJ and Champagne) and croissants (Paris, after all) and cafe au lait (again, its Paris, what else would you have) and a relaxed sunny morning on the sidewalk area of a Paris bistro.
Then we moved on to lunch at the Cafe Comptoire, a sampling of finger food and dips and wine and beer, very relaxed and pleasant, Leanne starting to feel a bit better. Plans made for the day, with Jan and Tara setting off to climb the Eiffel Tower (by elevator, not scale the tower walls) and Leanne and I opting to take some wine and beer and baguette and head for the Tuleries Garden area of the Louvre, only a couple of blocks away.
Jan and Tara to the metro for the journey to La Tour Eiffel, but the lineup was impossibly long to wait out. So, more images instead, then a leisurely walk back along the Seine and a stop to see 'George', a local artist whose work Tara and Jan purchased. A perfect memento of the trip and the day, and a visit along the way to The Crazy Horse Saloon on George V street.
Jan and Tara met up with Leanne and I, who had been having a relaxed chat in the sunny Tuleries Garden. We exchanged cameras, then they walked back through the Louvre courtyard, with Leanne and I following about a half hour later.
Had another picnic in the apartment, excellent wine and beer, baguette and salami and cheese and deserts, a visit by Thera, and finally time for bed. 'Doctor Ho', a muscle relaxant machine, applied by Jan to Leanne with excellent effect.
Sadly, tomorrow Leanne and Tara leave for London again.
