London England
Big night tonight, we are going to get sum Kultur, no - some cultur, no wait, some Culture?? What the hell, we are going to see a London Philharmonic Orchestra backed by the 250 member Bart's Choir presenting Beethoven's Symphony Number 9, Ode to Joy. The event is at the Royal Festival Hall near Waterloo Station in London. Jan and I went from Imperial Wharf by tube from Fulham Broadway to Earl's Court on the District Line, transferred at Earl's Court to the Picadilly line, then to the Moorgate tube stop and to Leanne's office. When she got off work, we walked down Moorgate to Bank (the Bank of England at Threadneedle Street) and took the tube to Waterloo Station where we exited and met up with Tara and with David.
Met Emily and Leanne's other friends from Loyd's Bank there, and picked up the tickets. All of us are there to 'get some Kultur', and to support their friend Neeraj, who sings in Bart's Choir. We found our way to the seats, and tried to spot Neeraj in the crowd. Everyone in Tuxedos, so it was hard to separate one penguin from another at a distance until Leanne spotted him. We waved so he could see his cheering section.
The performance of the orchestra and choir were excellent, the stuff of goosebumps, and I got it all on my video camera. The camera thing was prohibited but they weren't selling CD's there and it is for my own use only so it will be OK. No, you can't buy a copy. After the performance, we were off to the Firestation Pub for some pints and dinner, then home. We all met Neeraj there, he is a very interesting person and he and I will spend some time together in May to explore our shared interest in Physics.
Finally, home to Imperial Wharf for the night.
