Day 30:
Really, really overdid it last night. SO MUCH FUN, but today we are paying for it. The girls seem fine, but Jan and I are not. Something about our age, I think, and the fact that Jan and I started on the wine about a half hour before Hugh, Melanie, and the girls arrived. Anyway, today has not been pretty.
So we went out, finally, in mid-afternoon to the grocery store and bought a roast and other stuff for dinner. Had a nice hot dinner ready for after their work day, and a quiet evening for Jan and I. Starting to feel human again as I type this, late in the evening.
Going out again tomorrow on the tube, planning on St. Pauls cathedral plus some more sights in The City. Stay tuned for what trouble we get into tomorrow.
Some pictures of a church yard right across from the entrance to the grocery store. Not across the street, but about 20 feet away from this Safeway-sized grocery store. The stones are so old that the inscriptions are very faint and unreadable. I'm sure that the graves date from three or four hundred years ago. You can't turn around in this town without bumping into a pile of history. The other picture is the door to the girl's flat. Just so that you recognize it when you come here to visit.
