Took a leisurely trip up to the next stop on the Rideau Canal Heritage Tour, Merrickville. Once again, we were absolutely amazed at the charm of the restored heritage buildings, the functioning locks on the Rideau with more cruisers being lifted up and down, the incredible artisans plying their wares (although we still think Marion and Terry outrank any artists we saw here!!), and perhaps first and foremost, The Goose and Gridiron Pub, which served the most incredible soups for lunch.
Returned to smith Falls to give the Honda an oil change (per advice from Garry K. regarding taking care of the little beast!), updated our website, booked our flights to and from London (leaving Montreal Sept. 25th and returning Oct. 14th), had an early dinner, early to bed and ready to head off to Ottawa early tomorrow morning to start the next leg of our adventure.
