Day 9: Left the quiet oasis of Winnipeg's Travelodge's pool and hot tub to enjoy a day of sun and warm breezes along Highway 1. This became Highway 17 at the Ontario border. Long curvey highway down a corridor of trees highlighted frequently by incredibly beautiful deep blue lakes. Spectacular scenary at Kenora on Lake of the Woods. Passed through Dryden, Ignace, Upsala, Raith (times changed here from Central to Eastern time); all quaint towns with people living in small homes and appearing to enjoy simple living. Lots of highway improvements happening but no big delays as there seemed to be very few of us on the road!!
Stopped at Kakabeka Falls, billed as 'the Niagara of the North' just before we arrived in Thunder Bay. They really were awesome and we were impressed by the park trails that have been developed around them.
Arrived in Thunder Bay late at night and crashed! Oops, not as in the car crash sense but in the fell asleep almost immediately way!
